Chanda Kochhar did her school education from St. Angela Sophia School, Jodhpur, Rajasthan and after completing her initial education she completed her B. Com degree from Jai Hind College, Mumbai in 1982, after which she studied cost accountancy from Institute of Cost Accountants of India in which she received J. N. Gold medal and later she joined the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and received Master Degree in Management from it along with Wockhardt Gold Medal for Excellence in Management Studies.


After completing her studies in management, Chanda Kochhar started working with the title of a management trainee in the ICICI bank in 1984. She worked for this position for almost 9 years and in 2004 she was appointed as an important member of the core team to set up ICICI Bank. Through her hard work, she continued to promote and finally, she managed to make her position on the Board of Directors of this bank in 2001. Chanda Kochhar’s journey did not end there. In 2003, she was appointed as the managing director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank and under her leadership, ICICI Bank touches the new dimensions of success in many areas.
