PREFACE OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR
 

Surrounded by the Himalayan mountains Jammu and Kashmir is well known as the “Heaven of Earth”. This is the Northenmost state of India which is illustrious for its Natural Beauty, Ancient Temples, Palaces, Hindu Shrines, Gardens and so forth. The mountains landscape of Kashmir has been captivating visitors for centuries from across the world. Let’s explore some places of Jammu and Kashmir–

1. VAISHNO DEVI TEMPLE – JAMMU

One of the most glorious temples of the world “The Vaishno Devi Temple”, dedicated to Goddess Durga, situated in Trikuta mountains in winter capital of state – JAMMU which allure millions of visitors from the whole World each year. To reach the temple you need to trek around 14 km but this journey is pleasant one due to its scenic view throughout the trekking.


2. SRINAGAR – DAL LAKE

Srinagar, located on the bank of Jhelum river, is renowned for its Lakes, Beautiful Gardens etc. Among the lakes, Dal Lake is the most famous due to its floating houseboats and picturesque view. On the bank of this lake, there is Hazrat Bahm Masjid which is must See. Traditional indigenous handicrafts and dried fruits are the another identity of this place.


3. LADAKH -LEH

LADAKH is prominent for its extraordinary beauty, Festivals, and culture which can not be explicated in words. There are numerous attracting places and scenes those are filled with prodigious nature’s beauty like – Sky-High Mountains covered with the snowy valley, Vast Mountain ranges coated with greenery, Beautiful valleys between the lofty hills, Plateau and the Lake in this plateau and much more which are best places for adventures ardent individuals. Apart from these, there are more destinations to visit those are unavoidable such as – Famous Ancient Monasteries namely – Hemis Monastery, Alchi Monastery, Matho monastery and so on, Religious sites, Various Gompas, Wildlife safari etc.


4. PAHALGAM

PAHALGAM, also known as the Valley of shepherds, is a Wonderful place for venturer enthusiastic because it provides many sports activity like – Trekking, skiing, and ice-sliding etc. Being standing on the confluence of Sheshnag Lake and Lidder river it is surrounded by dense forests and Himalayan Mountains which gives panoramic view to the visitors. Besides this, there are several places where tourists can go like – Betaab valley, Tullian lake, Mammal Tempel, Poshwan Park, Lidder Amusement Park and so forth.


5. UDHAMPUR

Udhampur is one of the old cities of Jammu and Kashmir which named after “Maharaja Udham Singh”. Located in the midst of lush green forest of Nilgiries (Eucalyptus) trees it is the very pleasant place which attracts the visitors from all over the map. In the udhampur lots of places where visitors go to roam namely – Group of Krimchi Temples which are the oldest temples of this state which, Pandava Temple, Bhimgarh Fort, Subterranean Devika river sanasar, Mansar lake and the rest.


6. GULMARG

Gulmarg is one of the amazing places which can be seen in the Jammu and Kashmir valley. Gulmarg literally means – “Meadow Of Flowers”. It attracts myriad tourists due to its natural beauty where adventurer lovers can capture the moment on their cameras. There is also an Asia’s only Heli-ski resort which is the center of attraction of this place. Not only this Gulmarg’s beautiful landscape of snow clad peaks has provided background to many Bollywood movies. There are many visiting destinations which you can visit such as – Apharwat Peaks( ski-resort), Strawberry Field, Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve, Alpather Lake, Seven Springs, Gulmarg Golf Course and so forth.
